Once one of my Crested Butte favorites but will now be removed from my list. The prices are off the chart. Almost $50 for 4 pieces of fried chicken. All of Crested Butte has gone crazy with mandatory 20% gratuity and 6% cost of living charges but this is ridiculous. Some of the pieces were under cooked and bleeding. So sad to see Slogar's fall from grace.
Family style dinner - VERY generous portions!! Chicken, ribs, steak - all were delicious. great waitress too - highly recommend!!
Most disgusting dinner out ever. We were seated about 10 feet from the bathroom and could view the toilet every time someone opened the door. Asked to be moved but no one seemed to care. No way could we enjoy a meal knowing god knows what was circulated into the air. We did take out when they wouldn’t move us. The food really wasn’t that good and very overpriced. Don’t bother.
The fried chicken and the rest of the food was terrific. The problem Is that you can’t split an entree. Everyone at the table must order an entree. The chicken is half a chicken along with sides and biscuits for $39. I can’t eat half a chicken and neither can my husband. I was told I could order more sides for $19 as my entree. But there were plenty of sides with the entree. When I said that’s just too much food, I was told to just take it home and reheat it! Who wants to do that on vacation? Ridiculous and we won’t go back.
Pictures great, forget about it. Not the Slogar of past. Son and I sat at bar and great until crowd showed up. No room, cramped, harassed, and not a concern from owners. Just kept cramming them in. Food was good but not worth the charge or the hassle. Not much else to choose from; Teocalli Tamali or Mikey’s much better and less expensive. New owners no bueno.
Had a great meal with lots of food. There were 4 of us and we had the entree with ribs, chicken and steak. Family style means a 3 course meal starting with a caesar salad, cole slaw, delicious tomato chutney and cottage cheese. They even brought more salad. Then the entree(s) and dessert. We ordered the one big entree and still took home food. The sides were delicious, mashed potatoes, gravy, buttermilk biscuits and creamed corn, and you can get more of the sides if you want. The ice cream cookie sandwiches were also delicious. Honestly, I’d recommend getting a single entree and sharing, or expect to have a s...
The reason for the 3 is because of how the menu is structured . You don’t have the option of only getting white meat chicken. You have to order a half chicken for 39$. If you opt out of an entree, then you will be charged 19$ for all sides if you are at the table. You can’t just sit there and not order without getting charged. The result is an expensive dinner with a lot of wasted food . We basically paid 80$ for 2 chicken breasts because none of us eat dark meat.
Family Style. They are ready for you. Food was wonderful. Would recommend for families. Very personal.
This place is nothing special. I actually think I have had a better chicken dinner at Bojangles! To top off the slap in the face prices, they were cheesy enough to bring a ice cream sandwich for desert. The waitress actually came out and threw them on the table.
Very good food served family style to jam-packed fans who return on every visit to CB. Quite the place for fried chicken lovers. Large portions leave plenty for taking hame.
